Tucked away just south of Santa Cruz, La Selva Beach is a magical community of beach houses and family homes perched safely above the bluffs. These happenings include an annual 4th of July parade encouraging kids and dogs to join the fun. Halloween has never been done better anywhere else, with games in the community center, food, fun and entertainment. Villagers really have to stock up on the treats here!
Santa comes to visit the community center every year at the annual Christmas party. And St. Patrick’s Day features a traditional dinner of corned beef and cabbage.
In addition, one can find 4H club meetings, yoga classes, scrap booking workshops and more.
Right next to the community center, you will find the La Selva Beach branch of the Santa Cruz county library system. They have story hours for little ones and book clubs for youth through adults. Though the inventory is small, you can order books from anywhere in the Santa Cruz library system for pick up right there!
In the summer, kids nine years old and up can join Junior Guards right here at Manresa Beach. Did I mention surfing? It is quite a common site to see surfers marching down Playa Blvd with surfboards balanced atop their heads!
